Educator
I began my career working in education in 2002. I accepted a position as an adjunct instructor in the Pharmacy Technology program at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, AL. During that first semester I taught a Pharmacology Course and a Drugs and Health course. The program was brand new, and we were in our first semester of coursework. It was a fun, interesting, and challenging semester. The facilities, equipment, and resources to be used by the program were still being constructed and developed. We were basically creating things as we went along. Those circumstances certainly provided opportunities to be creative.
The following semester, in Spring 2003, I was offered the opportunity to become the Program Director. I gladly accepted, and moved forward with the challenge of building and developing this new program. I remained in this position for the next 18 years. This experience provided me the opportunity to build and develop the program curriculum, gain ASHP accreditation for our program, and educate and train many pharmacy technicians to work in local hospitals, retail pharmacies, and specialty pharmacies.
I was fortunate to be part of the growth of the program, as we progressed from the start-up program with few resources, into a vibrant program with online and hybrid course options, a well-equipped classroom and lab space, with dedicated areas for lab training and simulations, and fruitful partnerships with our local healthcare and pharmacy partners.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Wallace State. It is a beautiful campus. And, I worked with some wonderful, talented, and intelligent people. However, in 2020, I had the opportunity to return to my alma mater, and work as the Field Experience and Internship Coordinator for the College of Education at Athens State University in Athens, AL. I was happy to accept this opportunity and new challenge. I am responsible for managing and securing field experience and internship placements for approximately 800 students each semester. I also maintain relationships with our K-12 instructional partners. While I am not teaching courses at the moment, I do have the opportunity to stay involved with students, as I supervise and oversee interns each semester, and help them to meet their requirements and achieve their educational goals. I also enjoy meeting and developing relationships with the teachers and administrators at our partner institutions.

Worship Leader
I have been serving in worship, tech, and creative arts ministries for over 10 years. I have a passion for music, songwriting, audio production, and visual arts. I am thankful to be able to serve in these ministries, and use my interests and abilities to serve God and the church. I am currently the worship leader at Friendship at Cambridge in Athens, AL. I have served in that position for the past three years. Friendship Church has three campuses in Athens/Limestone county. Our campus is on the east side of Athens. Our campus was founded in the early 1800's as Cambridge Methodist Church. It has a rich history of ministry, and has hosted many camp meetings and revivals throughout its lifetime. Cambridge Methodist Church merged with Friendship Church to become Friendship's third campus in 2019. It has been a blessing to serve our church for these past three years, and help our campus continue to grow and impact the community and the Kingdom.
Hobbies and Interests
Music is my passion. I have been playing guitar and singing since I was around 10 years old. And, I have spent the past 30+ years maintaining that level of excitement about music. I am blessed to be able to have music as part of my job as a worship leader. But, I love music of all types, genres, and varieties. I love the process of songwriting, and have written and created songs myself, as well as with collaborators over the years. I am a huge guitar nerd, always interested in the newest gear, guitars, amplifiers, effects pedals, and anything that helps to craft noises with these pieces of wood and steel.
I enjoy other activities which allow me to be creative. I am interested in photography, videography, and graphic design. I really enjoy taking outdoor/landscape photos, as well as photographing buildings and architecture. And, since I'm a husband and a dad, I work in my fair share of family photos as well. And, although it is becoming more difficult to find time to do as they get older and busier, the kids and I enjoy documenting their shenanigans on their YouTube channel!
I also love sports, especially basketball and football. And since I live in Alabama, and it is requisite to identify one's allegiance.......Roll Tide!

Operation Christmas Child Video
This is a video my son Aidan, and our friend Barton created to share on social media to increase awareness for the Operation Christmas Child ministry, and to provide suggestions for the best items to include in OCC shoeboxes.
Photo Gallery
Here is a short gallery of some of my favorite photos I've taken recently. I especially enjoyed the waterfalls at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville.
